The investigation
The examination takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The doctor will first ask about your medical history and any skin cancer in your family (anamnesis). entire skin including the scalp, all visible mucous membranes and the nails are examined. For this, you must undress completely. In our clinic, a reflected light microscope (dermatoscope) is used for every skin cancer screening to examine deeper layers of the skin. Skin changes, especially pigment spots, are magnified tenfold using a dermatoscope, which enables a more precise diagnosis. It is also advisable to avoid makeup and nail polish. This way, conspicuous areas of skin are not covered up.
